Check out the enormous fig tree in the Amani picnic site (opposite the River cafe).  If you look carefully you can see the original tree that was strangled by the Mugumo.  Click here to read more about how Mugumo trees grow.

The tree growing over the entrance at the Sigiria gate is Prunus africana (also known as Red stinkwood), an important medicinal tree.
